Patience and kindness will be appreciated by people who might otherwise be discouraged from participating.</div> Infosec.Exchange is one of many such servers; it is a Mastodon instance, but there are other services in the fediverse besides Mastodon. Mastodon runs on top of the ActivityPub protocol. The fediverse encompasses other protocols too.
