===== Why are some instances Moderated or Suspended/defederated? =====
One of the great things about the fediverse is that individual instances can focus on particular topics or interests, but still communicate with people on other instances.
However:
  * Some instances choose topics or interests which revolve around denying the humanity of whole classes of people, or abusing vulnerable people.
  * This is the internet, so there's always lots and lots of porn out there. Consider [[rules:03_gratuitously_obscene_content_with_no_practical_benefit|Rule 3: Gratuitously obscene that serves no practical benefit to a discussion is not permitted.]]

Instances which exist solely or largely to enable content and behaviour which threatens the enjoyment of Infosec.Exchange users may end up restricted or [[:faq:what_does_defederated_mean|defederated]].
